passed down....

Since highschool, I have worn this ring:

I have worn it on my right hand pretty much without fail for going on 8 years. Wow, it really has been 8 years since highschool........ Anyway, occasionally I will wear my grandfather's ring that looks a little like this:

Mine has a fancy 'E' engraved on top which is actually square, and the sides are just like that all fancy and whatnot though mine seems thinner, more delicate. I'm sure someone is cringing at my wonderful description and there are actually phrases and terms I could use, eh, I'll figure it out later.

But every now and then, I will wear one of my grandmothers bands. It is platinum with a small band of diamonds in it. It was one of two bands that she wore and then were passed down to my sister and me. It is so thin, so fragile, so delicate, and yet to me so utterly beautiful. There was a while that I wore it more often than my JA cross, but I felt like it was getting worn a bit too much. But every now and then I will take it out, shine it up a bit, and think of Nana...

Do you have any family jewelry that you love to wear? What is your quintessential everyday jewelry??

No family jewelry that I wear regularly. I do wear pearl earrings almost every single day. Mine are oversized and I love the way they look on my ears.

My engagement ring! It belonged to Anthony's great aunt in Egypt and although we dont kwow exactly when it was made, we do know it was before 1910 because the diamond is handcut and is a rose cut. Its also got a little foil mirror underneath it to make it sparkle more (they dont make them that way now because machines are capable of "brilliant cut" diamonds).

I love my Rachael ring that has my birthstone, my mother's birthstone, and my grandmother's birthstone. The actual ring used to be my mom's... I love wearing it because I always feel like both of them are with me throughout the day!

My rings (obvi), my class ring from HS, and a small David Yurman bracelet my parents gave me for graduating from college. It has pearl caps. Usually it's pearls on the ears and perhaps a string on my neck, but that just depends on the day:0) I used to wear my mom's old wedding band or Massey's mom's ring that is sapphire and diamond (Lyd's birthstone is sapphire), but I'm not really a layer-er (if that makes sense), nor am I one to mix it up...but if I were, and if I did...
